Khartoum – (smc) Popular Congress Party (PCP) has affirmed the continuation of contacts with the armed groups to stop war and expedite the peace process in Sudan.
PCP leading figure, Bashir Adam Rahama stated to (SMC) that the main objective of their entrance into the national dialogue and the national accord government aimed at stopping war and achieving peace along with freedoms, describing the ongoing war as an obstacle for development and stability process, affirming their endeavour to stop the war, calling on the government to give priority to the war-affected areas in terms of development projects.
Rahama pointed out that the political reform process could not be achieved without healthy environment.
It is to be noted that the PCP after participating in the national accord government started contacts with the armed groups within an initiative to stop war.
