Khartoum- The General Director of the Geological Research Authority, the technical arm of the Ministry of Minerals, Mohamed Abu-Fatima, has said the ministry met five British companies that want to invest in the field of mining in Sudan and provision of services besides manufacturing of jewelry and gemstones, and geological survey.
Abu-Fatima, who participated in the Sudanese - British Economic Forum held in London recently with the participation of more than 120 British companies, pointed out that they have met with a number of institutions to invest directly in the field of financing and finding new opportunities for joint investments.
He pointed out that they held meetings with a total of 12 British companies for operating in the development of the mining sector in Sudan and provision of services to mining companies, including safety equipment, advanced technology, laboratories and documentation.
Abu-Fatima disclosed that they also discussed with the British side ways of promoting the mining blocks for attracting American, European and Australian companies to invest in Sudan.
