Khartoum – President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al Bashir has inaugurated in the beginning of his visit to the White Nile state the first phase of Kenana International

Airport and Kenana Airbase and buildings.
Al Bashir directed the White Nile State Governor to transform Abba Island to a model town to be provided by all services besides the registration of the residential and agricultural areas on the name of the citizens.
He pledged to provide all the basic services including electricity, water, health, education and tarmac roads in the White Nile State.
He also announced the commitment of the government to electrify all the agricultural projects and residential areas in the state, besides purchasing the cotton from the farmers with reasonable price.
For his part, Deputy Chief of Staff, 1st Lt. Gen. Isan Addeen Mubarak affirmed the Sudanese Armed Forces commitment to the ceasefire, calling on the armed groups to join the peace process.
