Khartoum - (SUNA) Sudan will participate in the Common Market of East and Southern Africa (COMESA) Summit, which is scheduled to be held in the Burundi capital of Bujumbura during June 9-10.
A meeting held, Sunday, at the Republican Palace and chaired by the Vice-President of the Republic, Hassabo Mohammed Abdul Rahman discussed Sudan's participation in COMESA Summit and Sudan's financial obligations in this connection.
State Minister, at the Foreign Ministry, Ambassador, Mohammed Abdallah Idris said in press statements that the summit will review the election of a new Secretary General for COMESA, noting that Sudan has a candidate for the post.
"Issues pertinent to economy, trade, agriculture and animal wealth, will also be discussed during the summit'' he said.
He added that another meeting will be held during the next three weeks with the participation of all the concerned sectors and ministries to discuss the final arrangements for Sudan's participation in the summit.
