Education Ministry Calls on the World Bank to Support Education in Sudan

Khartoum - (SUNA) Education Minister, Asia Mohamed Abdullah has called on the World Bank to provide more support to educational projects in Sudan, pointing out that Sudan hosts large numbers of refugees, while the World Bank has called on Sudan to provide effective programs.
Minister of Education met, here on Sunday, with the country director of the World Bank, Carolyn Turk, where the Minister stressed the importance of the project to strengthen the basic education in the country, pointing out that Sudan has become a place for a number of refugees from other countries, calling on the World Bank to provide more support to complete projects that contributed to the enrolment of a number of students in educational institutions, noting the importance of the implementation of the five-year plan (2018-2022).
For her part, the country director of the World Bank, Carolina Turk, confirmed that the Sudan has become eligible for international support, but thought that this requires more efforts from Sudan to provide effective programmes.
