Khartoum - (smc) The National Insurance Fund have declared that over 20 million citizens are now covered by health insurance in the country, 2.8 million of them are from the poor segment in the society and that 85.2 percent of the Fund budget have been spent in medical services. The fund director Dr. Talal Al-Fadil during the visit of the minister of Health of Somalia to the fund that was followed by SMC that focus of the Fund is to achieve complete health insurance coverage by 2020 and that a number of states have achieved this target. 
On the other hand, the visiting Somali Minister of Health Dr. Fawzia Abaker Nour commended the Sudan health insurance experience and have signed a number of protocols to benefit from this experience.
