Launching of Bridging the Gap: Inclusive Policies and Services for Equal Rights of Persons with Disabilities

Khartoum - Consultant for the International Cooperation of  the Ministry of Security and  Social Development Ambassador Mubarak Rahmatallah appreciated the efforts of the European Union  and Italian Agency for Development Cooperation for Supporting  the  persons with Disabilities in Sudan.

The Ambassador said yesterday during the Launching of Bringing The Gap  :Inclusive Policies and Services for Equal Rights of Persons with Disabilities that  Sudan is one of a five Countries is implementing the the initiative that promote the full enjoyment of rights and the equal access to goods and services by persons with Disabilities in Sudan .
Project Director ,Federico Martire  stated that " Bringing the Gap " aim to contribute to the socioeconomic inclusion, equality and nondiscrimination of persons with Disabilities in low and middle income countries through more inclusive and accountable institutions and policies .
 The Project Director said that the initiative is led by the Spanish International and Afro-American Foundation for Administration and Public Policies (FIIAPP). The partnership is composed by three EU Member States’ development agencies: Austria (ADA), Italy (IADC) and Spain (AECID), as well as the International Disability and Development Consortium (IDDC) and the European Disability Forum .
The project is carried out in five partner countries in South America and Africa: Ecuador, Paraguay, Burkina Faso, Sudan and Ethiopia, he said.
 The General Secretary of the National Council for Persons with Disabilities Badradeen Ahmed Hassan said they are is working hard to contribute to increase the inclusion of persons with Disabilities so as to enjoy all their Rights.
The launching was attended by Fabrizio Lobasso, the Ambassador of Italy and the Head of Cooperation European Union Delegation in Sudan, Government Officials and Civil Society Organizations.
