Kassala - (smc) The National Intelligence and Security Service (NISS) has aborted attempts to smuggle great quantities of consumer goods to Eritrea from Kassala State.
An informed security source said in a statement to SMC that NISS has continued its efforts in implementation to the directives of the Presidency of declaring the state of emergency, closure of the borders and combating smuggling from and to Eritrea.
The source disclosed that great quantities of consumer goods were seized at the villages of Golsa, Al Radief, Deman and Ed Saydna which are located in the border area between the two countries.
The source affirmed that NISS continues to be ready and vigilant for combating smuggling operations and pursuing smuggles and seizing the smuggled goods.
