Khartoum - Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Sumaiya Abu-Kashuwa has affirmed keenness of Sudan on boosting its foreign relations to realize joint cooperation and enhancing these relations especially with Turkey.
Receiving the Turkish Ambassador to Sudan, Irfan Veziroglu, at her office yesterday, the Minister praised the distinguished relations between Sudan and Turkey and work to boost them further to enhance the joint cultural and scientific cooperation in the field of higher education and scientific research.
The Minister referred to the conclusion of many scientific agreements and protocols and exchange of visits between university vice-chancellors between the two countries.
The Minister affirmed that the Sudanese-Turkish relations witnessed marked development after the visit to Sudan by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, saying that the visit expressed the deeply rooted relations between the two countries which are linked with strong bonds of history, culture and fraternity.
She pointed out that the meeting discussed implementation of projects and programs that had been agreed upon during meetings of joint ministerial and technical committees in the field of higher education.
The Turkish Ambassador, on his part, affirmed that President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has instructed boosting the Sudanese- Turkish relations in general and in the field of higher education in particular, saying that the meeting comes to follow up implementation of the various joint agreements and protocols for the interests of the two sisterly countries and peoples.
