Khartoum - The Gum Arabic Council has announced that Sudan’s exports of Gum Arabic for the period ending last May have totaled 27 thousand tons with returns
amounting to 45 million Dollars.
Secretary General of the said council Dr. Abdulmajid Abdulgadir has noted in a statement to Sudan Vision that the country’s export of Gum Arabic last year have amounted to 63 thousand tons with a total proceeds of 120 million Dollars.
He said the Council has participated in the events of the international fair of Gum Arabic which was recently held in Algeria. He noted that the participation was effective and successful with all measures particularly in the aspects related to promotion of Gum Arabic commodity. He outlined that Sudan’s pavilion in the fair has received a big turnout from the companies and businessmen from the Arab and African countries
He pointed out that many companies have expressed desire to invest in the field of Gum Arabic as it is an important commoditu used in many industries like food stuffs medical drugs and others.
