Khartoum - President of the Republic Field Marshal Omer Al Bashir launched in Al-Obeid, capital of North Kordofan State, a campaign for supporting the poor in the state, directing the concerned bodies to continue providing poor families with productive projects.
Minister of Social Security and Development Mashair Al-Dawalab said the Social Security Hospital, which was inaugurated by President Al Bashir at the state would help in indigenizing medical treatment in Kordofan States.
She added that opening of the offices of health insurance would contribute to increasing the coverage rate in North Kordofan State to 85% this year.
Secretary General of the Zakat Chamber Mohamed Abdul-Raziq, on his part, pointed out that the Chamber’s plan for this year targets provision of 40,000 poor families with means of production to help them get out of the poverty circle into production and sufficiency.
He noted that the Zakat Chamber is embarked on distribution of 350,000 food bags to ease increase in prices that affected the limited income sector.
Secretary of Zakat Chamber in North Kordofan State Adam Ibrahim, on his part, explained that the total cost of the campaign amounts to 55 million pounds, targeting 126,371 beneficiaries.
He indicated that the Zakat Chamber extends health insurance to 13,000 families or 150000 persons.
