Sudan Is an Ideal Partner in Protecting Children from Abuses

Khartoum - (Khalda Elyas) Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, responsible for the file of children in armed conflicts, praised the seriousness of the Government of Sudan and its rapid implementation of the joint action plan on the protection of children from violations in conflict areas, describing Sudan as the best partner in this field.
She said that children have become an integral part of the conflicts compared to the past, calling for the importance of working with other parties related to children's issues, stressing the criminalization of recruitment of children in conflicts, calling for caring for the best interests of child at  protection mechanisms.
For her part, Suad Abdul-Aal, Secretary-General of the National Council for Child Welfare, stressed that the policies and legislation in Sudan do not allow any violations against children, the elderly and the vulnerable ones based on religious and moral values.
