Exception of Medicine, Cooling and Ice Production from Tariff Increase in the Industrial Sector

Khartoum - Minister of Electricity and Water Resources, Mutaz Musa stressed on continuing of understanding and consultation with transparently through the joint committee

with the industrial sector and their understanding of the reasons for the increase of the cost of electricity for the sector, pointing out to the exception of medicine, cooling and ice production from the increase.
In his response to the Parliament Committee on the living conditions of citizens in its meeting yesterday, the minister explained the reasons for excluding these sectors, as cooling links with the storage of agricultural crops, pointing to support to  the production of snow for its association with the poor, indicating to increase of the cost of private hospitals and universities, embassies and international organizations, pointing out  to the state’s support  for electricity investments by investing $ 60 million for the establishment of Soba and Al-Bagair plant, and $ 210 million in the River Nile to support the high capacity of electricity for the revival of industry in the state , in addition to state investments to raise readiness to meet the increase in consumption in the summer.
