On the occasion of 70th Anniversary of India’s Independence, Embassy of India Khartoum orgainsed a Cultural Evening of Kathak Dance

on 24th November’17 at Friendship Hall Theatre. The dance troupe from India was sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India and led by Madhumita Roy a renowned Kathak exponent. Kathak is one of the classical dance forms of Northern India. The rhythmic dances were performed by seven people and kept the audience enthralled. Some of their performances were a fusion of multiple musical influences derived from the rich heritage of both Eastern and Western Culture. This was appreciated by the mixed audience.
