(Agencies) Sudan’s government announced last Sunday that it will lobby the United Nations General Assembly to put pressure on America to lift economic sanctions imposed on Sudan by America about 20 years ago.
The Sudanese Foreign Affairs Minister Ibrahim Gandour led the Sudanese delegation to New York to participate in the 72th UN General Assembly.
Garriballah Khidir, the spokesperson for Sudan’s foreign ministry, said part of Sudan’s address at the UNGA will highlight the importance of lifting of economic sanctions for the sake of peace in Sudan.
Khidir said Minister Ghandour will also in his address to the assembly highlight the national dialogue and its achievements as well as the refugee issues.
