Hassabo Praises Performance of Minerals Ministry

Khartoum - Vice President Hassabo Mohamed Abdul Rahman has commended the work being undertaken by the Ministry of Minerals in utilizing the mineral resources of Sudan

for the benefit of the national economy.
The Vice President, addressing yesterday the annual meeting of the minister of minerals with the employees of the ministry assigned to discuss the achievements realized in 2016 and targets for 2017, noted that the Ministry of Minerals is presenting the best model for performance.
He called on the employees to exert more efforts to increase production and achieve self-sufficiency for the country in all resources Sudan is endowed with, despite the challenges and the unjust sanctions the country is facing, noting that these challenges will but increase the steadfastness of the government. The Vice President also called for good management of resources.
The Minister of Minerals Ahmed Mohamed Al-Karouri, on his part, lauded the performance and punctuality of the employees, calling for enhancing administration and qualifying the human resources to achieve good management of these resources.
The Minister disclosed that the production of the country of minerals witnessed big increase this year, especially gold which registered more than 90 tons with the value of 7.3 billion dollars.
