Darfur Armed Groups Slam Al-Mahdi Demand to Postpone the Consultative Meeting

Khartoum – (SV - SMC) Sudan Call Alliance witnessed splits amid its components towards the AUHIP call for a consultative meeting in Addis Ababa early February.
The Darfur armed groups criticized the address of National Umma Party (NUP) leader Imam Al-Sadiq Al-Mahdi on behalf of Sudan Call Alliance to the African mediation asking for the postponement of the meeting.
Informed sources revealed the call of Al-Mahdi to Sudan Call Alliance components to boycott the consultative meeting, affirming that he will go to Addis Ababa as leaders of the NUP to meet the African and international community officials, adding that Al-Mahdi’s stance is but evidence that he wants to isolate the other parties of the Sudan Call Alliance.
The same sources said that Darfur armed groups did not confirm their acceptance to Al-Mahdi’s proposal.
