Khartoum - President of the Republic Field Marshal Omer Al Bashir has met on the sidelines of the African Union (AU) Summit in Addis Ababa President of African Development
Bank (AfDB) Akinwumi Adesina.
The AfDB President has said in a press statement following the meeting that he discussed with President Al Bashir a number of projects that the bank can contribute to their financing in Sudan, top of which projects of liquefied gas, gold and cotton cultivation.
He pointed out that these projects are big ones and the bank is ready to finance them has it had done in the past, saying that the AfDB is ready to rehabilitate the factories that stopped during the American sanctions that had been imposed on the Sudan.
The AfDB President affirmed that the bank is endeavoring to promote Sudan as a country rich with natural resources, adding the Bank is ready through its partners to open the way for various investments in Sudan.
He added that he had found great response from the President, noting that a mission from the bank would travel to Khartoum shortly to meet with the concerned bodies, including the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank of Sudan.
The AfDB President pointed out that there are projects that have already been studied by Sudanese bodies and Russian companies, noting that all of them would by studied so that the bank would finance them.
