Khartoum - The Minister of Petroleum and Gas, Dr. Mohamed Zayed Awad, has affirmed the keenness of Sudan to strengthen its political and economic relations with Belarus for the interest of the two countries.
A meeting between the Minister of Petroleum and Gas and the visiting Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus, Valentin Rybakov, has discussed horizons of the economic cooperation between Sudan and Belarus on the light of the memos of understanding, which were signed by the joint higher committee and co-headed by the oil ministers of the two countries, in the fields of oil, agriculture, higher education and scientific research, industry, exporting vehicles and tractors to Sudan, the exchange of investments in all domains, the training of medical cadres and establishing a market in Sudan for Belarus medicines.
Dr. Awad has called for expanding scope of the partnership between the two countries in the fields of agriculture, industry and oil.
He appreciated the progress in the political relations between Sudan and Belarus, calling for removal of the impediments facing implementation of some agreements that were signed by both countries.
On his part, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus has asserted the keenness of his country to cooperate with Sudan in all domains, especially in the economic and power fields.
He said that implementation of the agreements which were signed b the two sides will pave the way for a new phase of fruitful cooperation and enhancement of the trade relations between Sudan and Belarus, considering Sudan as a centre for the openness of Belarus to Africa.
