Norway Briefed on Sudan’s Effort in Resolving S. Sudan Crisis

Khartoum - Norwegian envoy to Sudan and South Sudan Janice Peter Zmbrod said his visit to Sudan is aimed at getting acquainted and listening to Sudanese officials on Sudan’s contributions and its efforts towards solving the conflict flaring up in South Sudan.
Zmbrod who is currently visiting Sudan has lauded upon meeting on Sunday the Sudanese Minister of Foreign Affairs Prof  Ibrahim Ghandour at the premises of the Ministry in Khartoum, the positive efforts of Sudan and its endeavors for ensuring the perseverance of peace and stability in South Sudan.
The Official Spokesperson of the Ministry ambassador Gareeballah Al-Khidir said the Minister has expressed thanks to the Norwegian government for its support to Sudan and presented a detailed explanation of the turn of events in Sudan and South Sudan. He noted that the stance of Sudan towards the issues of South Sudan is clear and well known.
He further lauded the level of coordination between African Union’s countries and the Inter-governmental Authority on Development (IGAD) renewing Sudan’s commitment to the agreements signed between Sudan and South Sudan and it will save no efforts for restoring security and stability to South Sudan state.
In a related development Ghandour said the Sudanese-Saudi relations have seen a tangible development and reached the stage of strategic relation lauding the progress of the two countries relations during the term of office of the Saudi Ambassador to Khartoum Faisal Bin Hamid Mualaa.
Ghandour wished the ambassador whose term of office in Sudan is expired all the best and success in his upcoming tasks.
