Humanitarian Organizations Unveil Atrocities Committed by Rebels against Citizens

Khartoum (SMC) - Organizations operating in the humanitarian field have unveiled a number of violations and negative practices by Menawi and Abel-Wahid Mohamed Nur movements in Darfur States and by SPLM-N in South Kordofan and Blue Nile.
The organizations pointed out in a report obtained by SMC that the rebel movement of Abdel-Wahid Mohamed Nur intensified its atrocities against the citizens, including looting operations, terrorizing the people and seizing them and using them as human shields, indicating that the movement levies fees from citizens by force besides targeting the people around Jebel Mara, looting their properties and livestock to cover the shortage it faces in supplies and food.
The report explained that the rebel SPLM-N in South Kordofan and Blue Nile continues its violations and atrocities of looting and terrorizing the citizens at the agricultural schemes and the remote areas besides compulsory recruitment of children, in an attempt to ease pressures on it and confusing the plans of the regular forces there.
The organizations also pointed out that the rebel movement of Minawi has intensified its recruitment activities at areas in North Darfur State and attempts of abducting youth and recruit them forcibly to send them to Libya as well as imposing fees at the said areas and continued its operations of looting and smuggling of livestock to Libya.
