E. Darfur Governor Discusses with Organizations Means of Boosting Services

Khartoum – Governor of East Darfur State Anas Omer has chaired a meeting at the secretariat general of the government of the state that brought together head of East Darfur Sector of UNAMID mission, partners of humanitarian work, UN agencies and organizations.
The meeting discussed ways and means of provision of the humanitarian services in the state.
The Governor explained that the development projects in the state are progressing according to the priorities of the citizens, which are represented in the basic services and justice, which constitutes a means for maintaining security.
Concerning education, the Governor called on UNICEF to provide education services as part of the plan of the Ministry of Education besides coordination with the other organizations.
He called for coordination between the World Health Organization and the Ministry of Health in indigenization of health services, establishment of public health laboratories and combating epidemics.
The Governor also pointed to importance of coordination with UNAMID mission in the field of maintaining security and boosting peaceful coexistence among the components of the state.
Meanwhile, acting commissioner of humanitarian aid Mohamed Ahmed said the meeting discussed projects implemented by the organizations for provision of basic services in the state.
