Hassabo Receives Church Leaderships

Khartoum (SUNA) - The Vice-President of the Republic, Hassabo Mohammed Abdul Rahman received

, Thursday, at the Republican Palace, a delegation of the Church leadership in the country in the presence of Minister of Guidance and Endowment, Abu-Bakr Osman.
The minister, in press statements has described the meeting as fruitful where, the churchmen affirmed their support to Sudan against the plots woven against it as they are considered original citizens in accordance with the constitution and Islam, expressing appreciation the role being exerted by the churches in national issues.
The Head of the Sudan Episcopal Church, Jose phial Kendo has explained that the meeting reviewed the role of the church in strengthening peace through participation in the national dialogue, referring that the streamlining of the church situation was also discussed.
Father Serb Amon the Bishop of Atbara, Omdurman and Northern Sudan for the Coptic Orthodox has expressed his appreciation to the support which his church receives from the Sudanese political leadership.
The Head of the Coptic Church has underlined that the meeting confirms the state, the churches and the organizations ability to do more for Sudan.
