N. Darfur Governor Lauds World Bank Projects in Education and Peace Building

Khartoum – North Darfur Governor, Abdul Wahid Yusuf has lauded the efforts of the World Bank for the implemented projects in education, peace building and development in the states in the recent years, affirming that those projects have it positive effect on the local communities where the projects were implemented, especially basic level education recovery project.
He called on the visiting World Bank delegation to implement more projects in concentration on income generating projects to cover all the 28 localities of the state.
For his part World Bank country representative considered the visit as successful, adding that the funds provided by the World Bank for basic level education recovery project amounted to US$76.5 million besides US$12.8 million on peace building projects.
World Ban expert and member of the World Bank delegation, Dr. Musalam Ahmed Al-Amir  affirmed that they will continue providing support to the counterpart in the Ministry of Finance through training programmes and capacity building projects.
On conclusion of the World Bank delegation visit to North Darfur, a wrap-up meeting was held with the Governor in the presence of representatives of ministries of education, finance and economical planning and the coordinators of basic education recovery projects and Sudan peace building Project.
