Sudan Urges Donors to Provide Support to Refugees in the Country

Khartoum- Minister of International Cooperation Idriss Suleiman has stressed importance of attraction of international support

to Sudan for implementation of priority projects in the country.
The Minister of International Cooperation was addressing at the Diplomatic Club in Khartoum yesterday the conference of the Ambassadors of Sudan in its seventh session on the tasks and missions of his ministry.
He called on the ambassadors of Sudan to the world’s countries to open new horizons of cooperation and activate joint committees between the Sudan and the countries of their representations besides the joint cooperation agreements.
The minister pointed out that Sudan is one of the biggest refugee-hosting countries in the world, calling on the international donors to extend support to Sudan to shoulder this responsibility, adding that the state trend to shift from the humanitarian aid to developmental one is progressing well.
He referred to the projects of priority for support, which include the fields of water, health and education.
Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Abdul-Ghani Al-Naeim, on his part, expressed importance of coordination and cooperation between the two ministries, calling for holding monthly coordination meetings between them.
