Economist Commends State's Move to Attract Expatriates Transfers through Official Channels

Khartoum - Professor of Economics at Sudanese universities Al-Kindi Yousuf has commended

the efforts being exerted by the state to encourage the Sudanese working abroad to transfer their savings to Sudan through the official challenges, including setting an encouraging indicative rate for foreign exchange and some custom exemptions and privileges, which are included in the current budget.
Prof. Al-Kindi Yousuf has pointed out to the ongoing efforts by the state through its various ministries for the rehabilitation of the infrastructures of the agricultural schemes and support services in the agricultural sector besides production of electricity from renewable resources to boost the industrial and agricultural production.
He stressed the importance of implementation of the policies included in the current budget, especially as regards moving the resources of foreign exchange from the parallel marked to the formal market as well as working for attracting financial deposits, grants and soft loans from the friendly countries to boost the exchange rate of the national currency against the dollar to improve the living conditions of the citizens.
