Agriculture Ministry Supports Food Security Policies

Khartoum-A workshop has organized to discuss food security issues, the secretary of the Technical Secretariat of Food Security

Babiker Haj Hassan briefed media last week that the objective of the workshop is to “study and analyze” lack of food security and to provide the “requirements” in order to overcome food security challenges.
The workshop also reviewed the feasibility of taking decisions and good policies to be a base which enables the government to evaluate food security in Sudan through the team works that operating now in the different states to improve food security situations.
The state Minister of Agriculture and Forests Sabri Al Daw hailed the role of the Technical Secretariat assuring support to its activities, he urged to form technical secretariats throughout the states to facilitate data collection to increase production and productivity according to crop diversity system.
The undersecretary of the ministry of Agriculture Badr Eldein Al Shiekh demanded for conducting surveys to all states to find out requirements, the event was convened at Union of Banks’ Hall amid presence of national and international NGOs, team works and the director of directorates.
The participants recommended focusing on “training” to qualify team work members and to support the team work financially alongside maintaining bridges and roads.
