Emirates Airlines Offers Extra Baggage Allowance up to 10 kg in Economy Class

(Agencies) Dubai based airline Emirates has launched a limited period offer for passengers travelling in economy class. The airline will allow passengers to carry 10 kg extra baggage allowance on select destinations, according to gulfnews. The offer is valid for sale until September 30, 2017, and the travel period is until December 13, 2017. Passengers flying to Mumbai, Kochi, Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai, Karachi, Dhaka, Sylhet, Chittagong, Jakarta, Cebu, Clark and Colombo can carry 10 kg extra baggage with them, but only on select flights. Meanwhile, the airline will also allow 10kg extra luggage on all Emirates flights to destinations like –Amman, Islamabad, Kabul, Khartoum, Lahore, Multan, Sialkot, Tunisia and Peshawar.
According to a Times of India report, Emirates is also considering the introduction of direct flight services from Vijayawada to Singapore and Dubai respectively. Presently, passengers have to go to places like Hyderabad, Delhi to take flights to these destinations. It is learnt that Emirates is in talks at the Union government level on bilateral seat quota to introduce a direct flight to Dubai from Vijayawada city. Notably, an international terminal is also getting ready at Vijayawada airport to handle international flights, as per TOI.
Recently, Emirates has also announced that it will start four daily flights between Sydney and Dubai from March 25, 2018. The new service EK417 has been scheduled in the evening for departure from Sydney and it will arrive in Dubai after midnight. The reciprocal EK416 will takes off from Dubai in the evening and will be back to Sydney in the late afternoon.
