Arab Bureau for Narcotics Affairs Delegation Visits Sudan

Khartoum- A delegation of officials of drugs control bodies of Pan Arab Bureau for Narcotics Affairs has paid a visit to Sudan to follow up the Arab strategy in this connection.
The delegation has got acquainted with Sudan’s experiences in combating narcotics.
The delegation visited the regional criminal laboratory in Sudan.
Head of liaison department of the Arab Interior Ministers Council in Khartoum Maj. Gen. (police) Emad-Eddin Khalafallah pointed out during his meeting with the delegation that the visit has come in the context of directives of the Pan Arab Bureau for Narcotics Affairs to follow up implementation of the strategy on combating drugs.
He pointed out that the Arab Interior Ministers Council has stressed the importance of participation of all institutions of the Arab states, including the educational and health ones, in combating drugs.
It also recommended that the media institutions shall work to raise the awareness of the public on the hazards posed by drugs, calling for benefitting from experiences of member states in curbing drugs trafficking.
Director of Drugs Control Department Maj. Gen. (police) Mohamed Ahmed Al Naiem, on his part, called on the officials of drugs control bodies of Pan Arab Bureau for Narcotics Affairs to work for reactivation of the cooperation protocols to curb spread of drugs to safeguard the Arab communities.
He called for collective work and exchange of information and experiences between the Arab countries to fight drugs trafficking networks and curbing their destructive activities.
