Khartoum- Burundian President Pierre Nkurunziza has issued a decree to the effect of his country’s official withdrawal from the International Criminal Court (ICC) after the
parlaiment has approved last week a bill of withdrawal prior to the last step of notifying the United Nations in this regards while the time of applying for withdrawal is not yet announced.
The Minister of Justice Aime Laurentian Kanjana has presented in a speech she delivered before a parliamentarian mps the motives of withdrawal decision from the ICC.
Kanjana said her country has noted that this court has become a pressure tool an insatbility of the developing countries and it was apprent to every one is that opnening an investigation against leaders takes place under pressure by western forces.
Burundi has been suffering an economic and security crisis since April 2015 in the aftermath of nominating president Pierre Nkurunziza to a third term which is banned by the constitution of the country.
