
Khartoum- Assistant to the President of the Republic, Deputy President of the National Congress Party has denied any trend to changing governors. He stressed that his
party is ready to present the biggest concessions from his part in favor of others even though it is still the ruling party and the winner by majority.
Mahmoud said in an interview with Sudan News Agency (SUNA) that there is no discussion in the party on changing governors and no recommendation in the national dialogue that talk about changing the governors.
He disclosed that the High Mechanism of the National Dialogue 7+7 will be retained as well as increasing its membership for following up the recommendations of the national dialogue along with forming constitution mechanism.
He said the constitutional amendments which the government has tabled before the parliament is part of the measures adopted by the government for implementing the outcomes of the national dialogue and they were connected with the government of national government which will shoulder the responsibility of implementing these outcomes.
Mahmoud says the economy is connected with time factor and there are international and domestic economic factors that determine the timeline like the disease which require fixing a date for conducting an operation.
On economic reforms, Mahmoud asserted that the adopted policies are unanimously agreed on and not taken on a random basis and they were conducted in conformity with term of reference of the dialogue document and recommendations.
He went on to say that the National Dialogue economic Committee has recommended restructuring governmental subsidy in favor of the vulnerable segment of the community and production instead of consumption. He noted that the recommendation number 528 which was approved in the dialogue conference on the 10th of October 2016 has stipulated liberalizing and unifying exchange rate of the Sudanese pound as well as attracting expatriates savings and including them in the banking system. The recommendation number 529 has stipulated increasing the proceeds of transfers to three billion annually via offering incentives. He added that the recommendation number 916 has provided for adopting monetary policies that assist the stability of the Sudanese pound exchange rate
