Khartoum - (Mona Mustafa) The mission of the national under 17 team leaves tomorrow (Friday) for Burundi to participate in Confederation of East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) U-17 Championship, which will be held there during the period April 14-29.
Sudan’s mission to the championship would be led by deputy chairman of the competitions committee Engineer Al-Fateh Bani besides the administrative and technical organs.
Head of the national teams committee Dr. Hassan Bargo has said in a statement to Sudan Vision that Sudan assumes pioneering role in the African football, saying that the country is one of the founders of the Confederation of African Football, expressing thanks to the media for their continuous support for the national under 17 team.
He affirmed their keenness on promoting and developing the capabilities of the national under-17 players as they represent the Sudan in such regional football competitions.
The Croatian coach, on his part, affirmed that the national under 17 team is considered as a good representative for the Sudan, saying that the players of the team can be utilized for backing the other national teams.
He affirmed that he is working to prepare the team in an ideal way for the championship, noting that Sudan has a big position in the African football.
The national coach, Ahmed Babikir, on his part, affirmed readiness of Sudan to participate in the various regional and international competitions.
