KHARTOUM -- The President of the Republic Omar Al Bashir has inaugurated a model village in Kassala state's region of Akla, Aroma locality. The inaugurating ceremony took place in the attendance of Sudanese Red Crescent. Al Bashir also attended a mass wedding ceremony for 100 couples held within the framework of youth support program and Eastern Sudan Development Projects.
In his address to the wedding ceremony, President Al Bashir urged parents to make things easier for the youth that so that they distance themselves from traditions and customs he painted as "alien to the society"
He called for minimizing marriage cost to protect the girls in conformity with the traditions of the Prophet Mohamed (PBUH). Al Bashir further hailed the UAE Red Crescent for its gracious efforts to development in East Sudan, congratulating the UAE government and people on the 46th Anniversary, wishing the country prosperity and stability.
Al Bashir also extended his salutations to all Emirati sheikhs on the occasion of the UAE 46th Martyr's Anniversary.
