Our Children Our Future

The  the National Council for Child Welfare, is working hard and  concern for the issues of Children of Sudan

, especially the National Comprehensive National Strategy for Children 2018-2030.
 the strategy calls for the outcomes of the national and community dialogue, the government's program of reconciliation and the reform of the state. The strategy aims to identify national priorities and help in coordination between government institutions and society organizations.
 
 The strategy focuses on harvesting the fruits of previous efforts, especially in the fields of education and health, to expand horizontal coverage and improve the vertical level, and review the plan's principles, which include the focal points of childhood issues, care, support and development as well as the development axis.

 Sudan has achieved remarkable development in the areas of childhood. The development sectors have witnessed an increasing growth in targeting women and children in policies and programs.

 The National Council for Child Welfare (NCCW) organized the 12th Consultation Meeting of the Secretaries of the Children’s Councils of the States  in Khartoum ,under the theme (Our Children Our Future).
 
Federal Health Minister Bahr Idris Abu Garda stressed the importance of early detection of children to avoid diseases affecting children and to adhere to the routine vaccination programme at centres and hospitals.

He pledged to intensify efforts for early detection of children, asking families and mothers to commit themselves to immunize their children He said the ministry is ready to cooperate with the Council and the Secretaries of state councils to enforce child laws to protect children.

Abu Garda appreciated the efforts and supports presented by UNICEF, UNFPA, Plan Sudan and Save the Children Omran Yahya, Minister of State of the Federal Governance, confirmed the ministry’s full commitment to coordinate and follow up closely with the central and State organs of government in protecting children.
The Secretary-General of the National Council for Child Welfare Suaad Abdul Aal stated that the political will of the State towards peace and development and the call for national dialogue and the campaign for the collection of weapons had the satisfaction of all the people of the Sudan The Secretary General affirmed that the Sudan is continuing its commitments to children for a safe childhood and to activating all regional and global laws ratified by Sudan and arranging mechanisms for the protection of children in the armed conflict areas.
She stated that the Council, headed by the First Vice-president of the Republic affirmed its commitment to children and called for the mobilization of all groups of society towards protecting children and the launching of the comprehensive National Strategy for children, which would be adopted and approved soon .

Adam, confirmed their commitment to activate the role of the State councils and promoting communication, follow up, progress and enforcement of policies and legislation through the presentation of reports, the development of plans, the development of programmes and the exchange of experiences and experiences in accordance with the National Children’s
Policy.

 According to the current situation of Children in Sudan Childhood issues has undergone remarkable development and notable progress has also been seen in child protection system through rights and legislation policies, plans and strategies.

 Institutional construction related to the protection of children on the top of the institutional building of the National Council for Child Welfare and State Councils which established under the Federal Government Act and the laws and state legislation.

 The results of the analysis of the current situation of children in Sudan showed the legal, legislative and institutional development came in with   exceptional circumstances,
The most important of these are poverty, internal strife and wars that have caused the displacement of children with their families and loss of life and health and educational services.
 The economic sanctions imposed on Sudan, affected on delivering of health services, especially life-saving drugs.
 The study noted that malnutrition rates and maternal and child mortality are still high.
 The study recommended that attention should be paid to children by  investing in children, fighting diseases and providing health, education and cultural services
