Khartoum – Saehiron Broadcasting FM99.6 (Our Guest Programme) paid a cordial visit to Sudan Vision premises to interview
its Managing Editor on the activities of the paper as the only English language outlet which comes out in paper in Khartoum.
Colonel Mohammed Saeed Ahmed, who is also one of the columnists of the paper, conducted the interview in a professional manner to get as much information about the paper and its mission.
The Managing Editor, Muawad Mustafa Rashid responses are that on August 4, 2003, Sudan Vision made its first appearance on the news stalls as a new English publication, with an aim at contributing to other Arabic and English dailies enlightening and shaping public opinion considering it as a window of objectivity.
From its first issue the paper made clear its mission, declaring its objectives and advocacy for unity, development and social peace.
In terms of advertisement and distribution we have been rated of the top papers among all publications, both in Arabic and English.
Sudan Vision has been through many rapid political and demographic transformation, economic booms and bust and both natural and man-made disasters.
Since that first issue, Sudan Vision has been an eyewitness to all the stormy events.
Throughout its period of existence, the paper has documented events of peace process, the signing of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA), the formation of the Government of National Unity between the National Congress Party (NCP) and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM), the general elections and the referendum which led South Sudan to become an independent state.
Sudan Vision has and continues to follow the Darfur issue from 2003, until the signature of the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur (DDPD) and the referendum of being one region or five states along with following the activities of the transitional Darfur Regional Authority (DRA).
The paper has covered all the African Union, United Nation African Union Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) and the United Nations Mission in Sudan (UNMIS) activities in Sudan and in the African continent as a whole.
With its new and improved website that attracts tens of thousands of visitors daily, Sudan Vision has managed to realise its vision and mission worldwide.
The paper is determined to move ahead with its goal to promote peace, democracy, transparency, coexistence, human rights, tolerance and reconciliation.
The interviewer presented several remarks on the paper which will be considered by the editorial board.
The interviewer representing Saehiron Broadcasting FM99.6 and the Sudan Vision Managing Editor agreed in principle to establish a smart partnership between the paper and the broadcasting station to exchange news articles reports etc.
It is worth noting that the interview will be aired on Saturday in the weekly programme (Out Guest) at around 9:30 p.m.
Saehiron Broadcasting FM99.6 has also a weekly programme (Weekly English) which is aired every Thursday at 9:30 p.m.
Sudan Vision will remain the forum of all people to express their views, considering the press is the most important medium.
The editorial board has arranged a roadmap for the upcoming stage to cover more events that is useful for our esteemed readers.
We are working in making conservable improvement in the contents at local, regional and international levels.
