Sudan Reiterates the Importance of Reforming the UN Security Council

Khartoum - (Ashorooq ) Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Abdul Ghani Al-Naim said that Sudan, in the light of his experience over the past few decades with the UN Security Council, has become more convinced of the importance of working on reforming the UN Security Council and the rest of the United Nations system and avoiding politicization.
During his meeting with the ambassadors of Uniting for Consensus Group, Al-Naim stressed the use of the United Nations system to serve the national interests of some countries, stressing Sudan's commitment to the African position.
He thanked the ambassadors of the group for their keenness on informing Sudan the vision and position of the group on this issue, which are now common concern to the countries of the world
Ambassador of Italy reviewed the group's vision for the reform of the UN Security Council to achieve transparency and justice for all members of the international organization, pointing out to the points of agreement and disagreement with other international groups, which were established for the same purpose.
The delegation of Ambassadors included ambassadors of Italy, Spain, Canada, Pakistan, Turkey and the Republic of South Korea.
