White Nile: Number of S. Sudan Refugees in Al-Salam Locality Equals Its Population

Khartoum – (smc) South Sudan Refugees who arrived in White Nile State amounted to 150 Thousand while their number in Al-Salam locality alone equals the population of the locality.
The head of the technical coordinative committee of refugees’ affairs in White Nile State, El-Tayeb Abdallah stated to (SMC) that South Sudan refugees were distributed in two camps at Al-Jabalain area and 6 camps in Al-Salam, adding that any new influx requires opening new IDPs camps in areas that require basic services.
He enumerated the negative impacts of the increase of refugees on top of which the services provided besides the green cover due to using the trees as firewood, along with the water pollution.
