Khartoum - As many as 4400 internally displaced persons living in South Darfur Al-Salam IDP camps have joined the membership of the ruling National Congress Party, Faisal Hassan Ibrahim, the Minister of Decentralized Rule, Head of NCP Organizational Sector, has revealed.
Addressing a closing session of NCP general conference in South Darfur capital Nyala, Ibrahim called for finalizing tribal reconciliations, renouncing differences in aid of shaping a better future.
He further demanded the issue of displacement solved before the end of the year, hailing the sacrifices and self-denials demonstrated by IDPs who have declared their membership of the NCP.
Ibrahim noted that the IDPs had demanded nothing in return for joining the membership of the party except for a place to carry out their organizational and other activities.
The governor of the state Adam Al-Faki – for his part – called upon all to transcend differences and overcome past grievances, stressing the need to shun tribalism and regionalism.
