(SMC) Sudan’s Justice Minister Awad Hassan Al Nour met with his Iraqi counterpart Haider Al Zamili, to discuss the situation of Sudanese convicts in Iraq and an agreement on the exchange of criminals in the two countries.
The agreement is expected to be signed during the upcoming visit of the Iraqi minister to Khartoum.
Nour stressed during his meeting with Al Zamili on the sidelines of his participation on the Third International Conference of the Arab Federation for arbitration, in Baghdad, on the need to cooperate with the concerned authorities to arrange the return of Sudanese prisoners who have served their sentences in Iraq.
The Minister of Justice was briefed on the situation of the Sudanese convicts in Iraqi prisons and the crimes that were tried in which, in addition to meet Sudan’s ambassador to Iraq and the diplomatic mission members.
He reviewed during his address to the Third International Conference of the Arab Federation for arbitration, the experience of Sudan in the field of arbitration and the procedures developed by the Investment Act of 2016, appealing to the Arab League to complete the ratification of the arbitration agreement signed in Amman.
The minister stood on the Iraqi judicial institute experience in the field of training and legal qualification, stressing the importance of cooperation and exchange of expertise and holding joint training sessions between the Iraqi Judicial Institute and the Institute for Judicial and Legal Sciences Sudan.
The Justice Minister had announced the approval of the ministry to extend Somalia all legal expertise, training and rehabilitation, and to meet the desire of the Ministry of Somali Justice to rehabilitation and training of its employees in the Judicial and Legal Science in Sudan Institute or Somalia.
