Khartoum – The visiting African Union Peace and Security Council delegation commended the efforts of the DDR especially in regard to the ex-combatants.

The delegation affirmed during its meeting at the Foreign Ministry the DDR Commissioner, Lt. Gen. Salah El-Tayeb Awad the support of the African Union to the firearms collection in Sudan besides adapting the efforts of the DDR.
For his part, DDR Commissioner, Lt. Gen. Salah El-Tayeb Awad said that the delegation praised the efforts of the DDR and the AU adaption to those efforts.
He added to Sudan Vision that the visit of the delegation comes within the framework of following up the UNAMID exit strategy.
