According to a press statement issued by the United States (US) State Department on 6 October, US economic sanctions imposed on Sudan have been revoked and that the said decision will be effective as of 12 October 2017.
We welcome this development that constitues a turning point in US-Sudanese bilateral relations.
We believe that the revocation of the sanctions on Sudan will positively reflect on peace, stability and welfare in Sub-Saharan Africa.
We fully appreciate the efforts of all sides that contributed to this outcome.
