Al Bashir Affirms Strength of Sudanese-Ethiopian Relations

Khartoum: Sudanese-Ethiopian talks were launched on Tuesday at the Republican Palace headed by President of the Republic Omer Al Bashir and Ethiopian Prime Minister

Hailemariam Desalegn in the presence of a number of ministers from the two sides in confirmation that the Sudanese Ethiopian relations did not and will not stop at the limits of joint cooperation which was previously announced by Khartoum and Addis Ababa but they will move towards integration and joint defense from any threat.
The Ethiopian Prime Minister on Tuesday arrived at Sudan leading a high level delegation in an official three-day visit.
He was received at Khartoum Airport by President of the Republic Field Marshal Omer Al Bashir and a number of Ministers and senior officials of the country along with the members of Ethiopian community in Khartoum.
Al Bashir affirmed the strong political and economic relations with the Republic of Ethiopia noting that the relations are seeing keenness of both sides and a witnessed support of the joint efforts for guaranteeing security of stability of the two countries.
Al Bashir said the joint cooperation between the two countries avails to us opportunity to go ahead towards completing the joint projects represented in linking the two countries by railway lines banking dealings and economic integration along with activating the tripartite ministerial mechanism.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs Prof  Ibrahim Ghandour said the files of borders between Ethiopia and Sudan and renaissance dam were reviewed at the talks while the file of water is deemed to be a security national file.
He noted that the two sides held a closed-door meeting headed Al Bashir and Desalegn that discussed issues of concern to Sudan and Ethiopia as well as regional issues.
Responding to a question about Renaissance Dam Ghandour said Sudan’s relation with Ethiopia transcends water file.
