At the End of the Visit of the US Expert Delegation: Sudanese-American Universities Forum in March

Khartoum - The delegation of experts from the International Institute of Education in Washington

concluded their  visit in Khartoum with the leadership of higher education in Sudan, which came to to discuss ways of joint cooperation between the two countries  to  build partnerships for Sudanese universities with their American counterparts in the coming period.

The two sides held a press conference yesterday in the presence of Prof. Azahari Omar Abdel Baki, undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education and scientific research, and Mr. Stephen Kotsius, Chargé d'affaires of the American Embassy in Khartoum and members of his embassy, as well as the expert delegation from the Institute.

Prof. Azhari confirmed the success of the delegation's visit, where in the past days ,there have been a meetings between the experts with directors of Sudanese universities, college Director s and Chairs of the scientific committees of the National Council for Higher Education and scientific research, the delegation also visited the universities of Shendi, Khartoum, al-Nilain , Sudan for science and Technology, and the Gezira University in addition to the Maystooma centre in Khartoum.

Mr. Stephen Kotsius, Chargé d'affaires of the American Embassy in Khartoum, thanked the Ministry for the good reception , stressing their  serious efforts  to strengthen relations between the two countries in the fields of higher education and scientific research by taking advantage of the lifting of the economic embargo on the Sudan, and hoping that Attempts to remove  Sudan from the list of sponsors of terrorism, declaring that they are moving forward in opening up more areas of cooperation and joint ventures.
The delegation  emphasized their happiness and generosity in  Sudan, stressing that today's climate is  very propitious to the partnership between Sudanese and American universities, they said they would strive to organize Sudanese-American University forum in March.
