Defense Minister Lauds Efforts of Security and Defense Committee in Support of SAF

Khartoum - Minister of Defense First Lt. Gen. Awad Mohamed Ahmed Ibn Ouf has lauded the efforts being exerted by the parliamentary Security and Defense Committee and its support to the regular forces and all security organs and backing to the legislatures that enable them to carry out their roles in protecting the country.
This came when the minister addressed a briefing meeting organized by the Defense Ministry for the Chairman and members of the Security and Defense Committee of the National Assembly, in the presence of Chairman and members of the Joint Staff and State Minister at the Ministry of Defense.
The meeting reviewed the efforts being exerted by the Ministry in all fields and its achievements in the domains of combating landmines. This is in addition to presenting a comprehensive briefing on the internal and external levels.
Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces First Lt. Gen. Emad-Eddin Musatafa Adawi, on his part, affirmed readiness of the Armed Forces for defending the homeland, pointing out that the external participations of the Armed Forces have contributed to boosting the relations of Sudan with its Arab and Islamic domains, referring to new arrangements and plans at the level of the Armed Forces that guarantees the best means for it to perform its role in protecting the country.
Chairman of the Security and Defense Committee of the National Assembly Lt. Gen. (Police) Ahmed Imam Al Tuhami, on his part, affirmed support of the National Assembly and the committee to the Armed Forces to carry out its constitutional duties through leading initiatives in the fields of legislations to improve the work environment and the terms of service.
He praised the achievements of the Armed Forces in realizing peace and stability in Darfur.
