Lt. Gen. Al-Hussein: The Year 2017 a Turning Point in the History of Sudan

Khartoum - State Minister at the Presidency Lt. Gen. Taha Osman Al Hussein has said the year 2017 constitutes a turning point in the economic, social and political history of Sudan, pointing out that a number of investors from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have showed desire to operate in Sudan in various fields.
Sudan and UAE signed on Thursday an agreement on 500 million dollar deposit for the benefit of Sudan, as part of the continuous contributions by the UAE to boost the national economy of Sudan. The deposit is the first of its kind after the decision of the US Administration of lifting the economic sanctions imposed on Sudan.
The Governor of the Central Bank of Sudan Hazim Abdelgadir Ahmed signed the deposit agreement for Sudan, while the Director General of Abu Dhabi Development Fund signed for UAE.
The signing of the agreement came as part of a tour by a Sudanese delegation led by State Minister at the Presidency Lt. Gen.Taha Osman Al Hussein, the Director of the Office of President of the Republic Field Marshal Omer Al Bashir, to a number of Arab and Islamic countries that started by UAE.   
Hazim pointed out that the future will witness economic transformations in Sudan through the expected flow of foreign investments in all fields of services and projects a matter that will reflect positively on the conditions of the citizens.
Meanwhile, a number of UAE businessmen and investors have said they are ready for cooperation with Sudan for realizing development and the welfare of the peoples of the two countries, saying that signing of the deposit agreement incarnates the great cooperation between the two countries in the commercial and economic fields.
