52 Million Kuwaiti Dinars for Implementation of Al Bagair Electricity Station

Khartoum-State Minister at the Ministry of Water Resources, Irrigation and Electricity Ibrahim Hamad Ali Al Tom, Undersecretary of the Ministry Dr. Omer Azrag and directors of companies have attended the opening procedures of financial bids for implementation of Al Bagair Electricity Station Project.
The State Minister said following completion of the procedures of opening of bids that the station would produce 175 megawatts of power at the first phase and would reach 350 megawatts at the completion of work, referring to the importance of the station in enhancing the national grid and boosting the capacities of the agricultural and industrial sectors in the country.
Director of the General Administration for Planning Engineer Modhawi Abdul-Karim said eight companies presented bids and four of them were qualified, indicating that the station is composed of two units with a production capacity of 175 megawatts each.
He noted that the power station is financed by the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (Kuwait) with a sum of 52 million Kuwaiti dinars.
