Al Bashir: Strategic Cooperation Agreement between Sudan and Turkey for Interests of the Two Countries

Khartoum-President of the Republic Field Marshal Omer Al Bashir has affirmed that the strategic cooperation agreement, signed between Sudan and Turkey, covers all fields

of cooperation a matter that put great responsibility on the officials of the two countries.
President Al Bashir, receiving at the Guest House Monday visiting Turkish Minister of Agriculture and the accompanying delegation, pointed out that cooperation between Sudan and Turkey is for the interest of the two countries and peoples.
Al Bashir said that Sudan with its resources and potentials needs Turkish expertise and technology, referring to importance of investments in the fields of agriculture, oil and mining.
The Turkish Minister of Agriculture, on his part, disclosed in a press statement that Sudan and Turkey have signed an agreement on investment in the oil field at the value of 100 million dollars, besides other agreements on investment in the fields of agriculture and animal resources. This is in addition to an agreement on facilitating banking transfers for increasing the volume of trade exchange between the two countries, which stands at 481 million dollars.
The Turkish Minister of Agriculture affirmed that the meeting discussed all issues pertinent to joint cooperation and issues of mutual concern in the context of the visit paid to Sudan by the Turkish President earlier.
Meanwhile, the Central Bank of Sudan (CBOS) has handed over to the visiting Turkish delegation its initial approval on establishment of a branch for the Turkish Ziraat Bank in Sudan.
Acting Governor of CBOS Massad Mohamed Ahmed said there is a political will and directives from the presidents of the two countries for increasing joint economic and commercial cooperation.
He indicated that exchange of visits by officials of the two countries would contribute to enhancing economic partnerships and benefitting from potentials available in the two countries.
The visiting Turkish Deputy Minister of Trade, on his part, affirmed importance of the strategic partnership with Sudan and their keenness on implementation of the economic cooperation agreements between the two countries.
