Foreign Ministry Appreciates China’s Role in Supporting Sudan in the UNSC

Khartoum - State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Osama Faisal expressed Sudan's appreciation for the role played by the People's Republic of China with a number of friendly

countries through its diplomatic missions in New York in neutralizing the British draft resolution to the UN Security Council on the situation in Darfur and issuing a resolution to reduce UNAMID and ending its missions by 2020.
During his meeting with Chinese Ambassador to Khartoum, Faisal discussed the preparations for the participation of the Sudanese President Omer Al Bashir in the summit of the African-Chinese Cooperation Forum in early September in Beijing.
Spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Qariballah Al-Khidir said, in a press statement, that the meeting also discussed the arrangements related to the meeting of Al Bashir with his Chinese counterpart before the start of the summit meetings, noting that the meeting will consider ways of developing cooperation relations between the two sides in all fields, especially economic and trade cooperation , adding that the State Minister pointed out, during the meeting, to the holding of the  meetings of the joint working group to develop practical cooperation in Beijing to begin on August 28, before the visit of the President of the Republic, which is hoped to succeed in overcoming obstacles to the development of practical cooperation, and support the programs of bilateral cooperation in various fields.
