Sudan Commended for S. Sudan Peace Efforts

Lusaka- (SUNA) The COMESA ministerial meeting on Tuesday commended the efforts exerted by the Sudan to reconcile rival parties and achieve peace in South Sudan, saying the regional organization backs Sudan in this endeavor.
The State Minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mohamed Abdallah Idris, said the Vice President who arrived in Lusaka heading Sudan delegation to the COMESA summit would brief the delegations on the efforts to achieve peace which is one of the elements that help trade exchange and interaction among the member states.
He said the ministers who met prior to the summit have discussed the efforts led by the President of the Republic, Omar Al Bashir for achieving peace in South Sudan within the IGAD initiative and within its blessing.
