Country Produced 63.3 Tons Gold during Last Six Months

Khartoum - (SMC) Ministry of Minerals report revealed that the production of the first half of this year amounted to 63.3 tons of gold by 138%, while revenues were1.516 billion.
First Assistant of the President of the Republic, Mohamed Al-Hassan Al-Mirghani called on the Ministry of Minerals and related parties, the need to tighten coordination to control the smuggling of gold, calling on the Central Bank of Sudan (CBOS) to provide reasonable prices for the traditional miners to sell their product to the CBOS.
 Al-Mirghani said, during his visit to the Ministry of Minerals on Tuesday, that their mission in the national accord government is to work with the ministry to reduce the negative effects of the mining sector and to strengthen the positive effects, directing the ministry to find alternatives to chemicals used in gold extraction.
Minister of Minerals, Mohamed Ahmed Ali said that the ministry was able to determine the reserves for all metals and determine their location, pointing out that the mining sector has bright opportunities, where the state relies on it to overcome the current economic crisis, saying that the sector contributed this year by 6% in GDP and growth rate of 14.
